I have an MSI pc mate z97 and this morning my computer wouldn’t wake up, i tried to restart it but it would never display anything neither with the graphics card or from the motherboard directly with the graphics card removed, nothing would every display to the monitor. I removed all the memory and tried to boot and the motherboard did not beep and actually shut down after a minute or so.. So I’m thinking my motherboard probably konked. I was just wondering what would be a good way to go ? I am interested in future proofing if I can but honestly my budget is pretty tight this time of year and if i have to, I’m okay with grabbing an older model just to get my machine working again.
My current set up is
MSI PC mate z97 4x8gb =32gb ram NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB i54590 3.3ghz
I dont have any other really requirements other than aux out and a couple usb3 ports. I can see myself upgrading some sound stuff in the future, that and getting newer intel chips in a few years (this one is fine for me) is the only future proofing i see myself actually needing.
My budget is around $100 but if i can get something that suits my needs for less that’s honestly better. I can find the exact same motherboard i have now on eBay for around $80 but I’m just not sure if that’s a good idea. Thanks!
Ps. If you know anything else i could potentially trouble shoot to solve so i dont have to shell out the cash that would be amazing!
