Optical out support?

Hi, I’ve just bought an external dac to listen to some music. I want to connect the dac to the optical out from my hackintosh preferably.

I’ve a Z87-UD3H and I’m using clover. Can I use the optical out or do I need some patch to make it work?

I only need 2.0 audio, no 5.1 etc. It’s just for listening to music.

I prefer to use optical out to usb. I know it will work with usb.
