EDIT: OSX = macOS if that's confusing at all
I'm a CS major and like to do a lot of coding in different areas, and want to start learning iOS development, so I need a computer that runs OSX. I'm going to try and get myself a new Macbook Pro, but that's not really in the budget right now so I want to know if my current desktop is compatible (if so, to what degree) to be turned into a Hackintosh. I'd like to be able to dual-boot Windows 10 and OSX (whatever most recent version is most compatible) and each OS would be installed on a separate Samsung SSD. I've done a little bit of research into building a Hackintosh before but I wouldn't consider myself an expert so I hope I can get some help from the community here.
So without further adieu, here are my current hardware specs:
- CPU: Intel i7-7800X
- Motherboard: MSI X299 Raider
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070Ti (recent upgrade from GTX 970)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 (I forget the clock speed off the top of my head)
- Network card: Some TP-Link model I can't recall, I'd be using ethernet 99% of the time anyways
- Monitor: Two Acer G257HU smidpx 25-Inch WQHD 2k (2560 x 1440) monitors
- Mouse: Razer Mamba
- Keyboard: Ducky One mechanical keyboard
- Hard Drives: Two Samsung 250GB SSDs, one 3TB Seagate barracuda HDD, one 1TB WD Black HDD
Is it even possible for me to run OSX with these specs? I've tried to find a comprehensive parts list on sites like tonymackx86 and similar websites, but never found the exact info I was looking for.
If it is possible, what compatibility issues might I expect, and what do I need to do to start the process?
Thanks!
