I am looking at either trading up to a newer MacBook Pro (15”) or an iMac (27”) to replace my mid 2015 MacBook Pro (13”). I use my current MacBook for everything from developing games and programming to basic content viewing. I would like a little more power and something I could use to power a 34” Ultra widescreen monitor for programming. My first instinct was a newer MacBook pro that I could leave docked until I wanted to go portable, how ever I feel like getting a hackintosh would be way better bang for the buck and would suit me better as I could keep my current MacBook pro for when I needed to go portable. My question is, what would be the best budget friendly hackintosh build that would get me at least 16GBs RAM and preferably an i7. I would also need a decent graphics card as I do a hood chunk of game design in 3D using Unity and Blender/Maya. I’d love to stay around the $1000 max range, but would be willing to put more aside for it. Also, I would definitely like a build that has the most compatibility with getting iMessage and other features working.
