"Preferences Error: There was an error in Network preferences"

Hello! I just recently got my hackintosh up and running with macOS High Sierra. However, I cannot get my Internet connection working (via ethernet to older Windows laptop with wireless because I don't have a wireless card or dongle compatible with macOS). I when I open System Preferences, click Network, and hit the plus sign to add a new connection option, it goes back to the main System Preferences screen, giving me an error: "There was an error in Network preferences." I have already tried to install my Ethernet kext (RTL8100 I think) using KextBeast but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas? If you need any more information just ask! Thanks!

System: CPU: i5 7600k Motherboard: MSI Gaming m3 Z270 Graphics: Motherboard integrated graphics (I would like to use my GTX 1050 Ti but that's a problem for another time)
