Can we start a list of MUST HAVES or RECOMMENDATION for post installation?

Whenever I get a Hackintosh up and running, there are steps I follow based on personal experience to make the rest of any install easier. For example:

  1. The first thing I do is go into System Prefs --> Energy Saver, and move the slider for screen and computer sleep all the way over. This way if i'm updating or installing something, and the computer goes to sleep without me having installed Clover or other important files, I won't get stuck having to reinstall or do unnecessary troubleshooting.

  2. Along with System prefs I also go into Accounts and set up automatic login, as this shaves a few minutes off of the setup process. I also go into the Keyboard, map the Alt key on my keyboard to the Command key and test it:*System Prefs --> Keyboard. Click on Modifier Keys, select your keyboard from the upper drop-down list. Map Option key to "Command" then map Command Key to "Option". Test by pressing Alt (now the Command Key) + W. if the window closes, you've mapped it successfully).

  3. Most importantly, once I have OS X up and running, I'll install it again to an external HDD or another internal drive (small capacity M.2 drive, mSATA, etc). From there I'll load up all the kexts used, make folders with a copy of my config.plist files for the main system and Hackbooks, add additional kexts used per machine, etc. this way if something were to happen with the main drive, I can boot to the other drive and attempt to make repairs or replace files if necessary without having to backup everything and reformat.

Would these tips (and others submitted by users) be essential as it is to me, or more of "your mileage may vary"?
