Hi All,
I'm in the process of setting up my new High Sierra Hackintosh, and ran into an issue that seems pretty common: when it came time to boot into my Unibeast install USB and erase/reformat my internal SSD to install High Sierra on, it didn't show up! TL;DR I got it to work by plugging the SSD into my Macbook with a USB to SATA adapter and just erasing/formatting it there. Then, of course, it showed up no problem.
Here's a link to another reddit thread where this occurred, and a tonymac thread as well.
I did all of these steps to make sure it wasn't another issue: * Checked that the drive showed up in my BIOS peripherals to ensure both the power and sata cable were connected * Flashed my BIOS to the most up-to-date version * Set my SATA Configuration Mode to AHCI * Remade my Unibeast USB to make sure it wasn't corrupted.
I know it's a pain to buy yet another piece of hardware, but I've had this thing for years and it's such a useful tool to have in my building kit so I highly recommend it.
Hopefully that helps people who get stuck at the same place and don't want to deal with injecting kexts or doing the manual Clover procedure. Cheers!
