Hi /r/Hackintosh!
I'm am building a Hackintosh PC for a school project, called "Personal Project" where I get to choose what I want to make my project about. I am currently in the planning stage, so any help would be appreciated!
I'm looking at a budget of $400, that can be stretched to $450 if it's worth it. Of course, just looking for maximum performance, for things like video editing and gaming.
I'm no expert on Hackintoshes, but so far, for the budget I'm looking at (I left some room for budget):
- RX 560 4GB (I heard they are better for FCP?)
- 2x4 GB DDR4 (Wouldn't mind using DDR3, however couldn't find any compatible motherboards)
- Intel Pentium G4400 (Or any other budget friendly CPU, can probably upgrade)
- Masterbox Lite 3.1 Case
Oh and Mail in-rebates aren't really practical for me.
Feel free to completely overhaul the build, anything you can say to help me will be cited! :) If you have any previous Hackintosh experience, or in general IT, please leave it in your comment, it will help me with having credible/experienced sources.
I will make any edits to this post for any relevant important information, ideally I will run MacOS High Sierra, and I already have my legally obtained OS X copy sorted.
Thanks a lot! :D, and feel free to leave any other Hackintosh links/guides.
