I just got a GTX1050 to try and get my old Hackintosh (10.11.4) working with 4K.
After installing, it shows up as an "Unknown" card.
I followed the instructions at https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/nvidia-releases-alternate-graphics-drivers-for-os-x-10-11-4-346-03-06.188837/ including ticking "nvda_drv" in Clover Config, and enabling the Nvidia driver from the Nvidia Driver Manger System Preference panel.
I have the latest Nvidia web driver installed.
But it still won't recognize the card or go above 1024x768.
My config.plist is probably a big mess (the result of years of on and off tinkering) -- I posted it here: https://pastebin.com/v0HYBwB7
My mobo is a rather old Gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r.
Can someone help me out?
Should I manually add nvda_drv=1
to config.plist? Where would I do that? (Ticking that box in Clover Configurator did not add that actual text. And it was magically disabled after reboot.)
Actually I just realized that if I tick nvda_drv
in CC, then save, then re-open config.plist, it is unticked. Confused.
Please help! Thanks!
