- Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-51-787B)
- Kaby Lake (Intel HD 630 Graphics + i7-7700HQ CPU)
- NVIDIA dGPU (GTX 1060, HDMI port wired directly to it)
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- Intel NVMe SSD (600p?)
- Unlocked BIOS settings (have access to all sorts of advanced settings like DVMT, audio being SST or plain HDA, etc)
I'm curious how clean of a macOS set-up I could run? Years ago I had an Acer laptop that only needed a modded kext for audio, but was relatively fine with OS X updates.
The one thing that stands out as a potential problem on this laptop afaik is the NVIDIA dGPU; will macOS just let me plug a monitor into the HDMI port and be good to go? Does macOS support any kind of form of Optimus?
