I've been trying for a while to get this system to run on OSX.
So, originally this project was a dual CPU system with a single Quadro Fx 3800...
But that didn't work, so I got a Radeon HD 7950...
Again didn't work. I had run it under windows with both GPUs working fine. But I didn't want windows I was determined to do hackintosh! so one day I decided to buy a GTX 960 just to test it against my R9 380 (which ever card lost was going in the workstation) and the performance was pretty on-par but it was only the 2GB version of the 960.. so performance in games that needed more than 2048Mb was shotty to say the least (but it did out-perform it SIGNIFICANTLY when I had it balls to the walls overclocked (stable BTW)... again not so good on games that needed more than 2048Mb.
So I threw it in my workstation PC and it sat and it sat with 2 other GPU's the Fx3800 and my newly acquired NVS 300, and looking back i think that could have fixed the FX 3800 as the 'Booting' GPU (what's needed to make the FX 3800 work alone). but whatever
So I make a fresh usb drive within a virtual machine plug it in and after fixing a stupid mistake I made in multibeast BOOM all 3 GPU's working and recognized.
I'm super happy and can't wait to get on to some content creation :D
Why the wimpy NVS? two words More Cuda
