Acer Travelmate B113 can't even get to installer

Hi,

Got a USB stick loaded up with Sierra 10.12.6 and clover 2.4k.

Boot from usb and select 'boot macOS from Sierra' see apple logo, then a blank screen. Tried the -v switch and see it boot with no noticable errors, straight to a blank screen

Best I can get is booting with -v and selecting to boot without injecting any kexts - hangs at launchd[1] org.ntp.sntp.157 5mins later get - busy timeout 240s kextd wait AppleACPICPU, pci8086,154

EDIT - 2mins later gone to the blank screen.
