After spending weeks getting a dual boot Win 7, Sierra system working for my daughter, Windows 7 decided to get stuck in an update loop - it downloads updates, tries to install them on shutdown, fails, reverts back, and then does it all in the next reboot. After doing this for a while, the system now will no longer boot off of the OSX drive, so I assume that Windows tried to "repair" the boot partition or something.
I knew this was a possibility, but I thought I could avoid it by keeping OSX and Win 7 on separate drives, since I've done that setup before, and never had any issues. However, one thing I did differently was to put an exFat partition on the OSX drive, so maybe Win 7 decided that it could do whatever it wanted to that drive.
I have other setups and call pull the drive out and reinstall Clover. Do you think that will fix it? Should I back up my EFI partition first? Also any thoughts as to how to avoid this happening in the future?
