Monitor Detection Problem

Hello,

I have a fully working 10.12.6 System (i5 3470, Generic Board, 8 GB RAM & PNY GeForce 730). When i try plugging in a secondary Monitor via a HDMI -> VGA Adaptor it detects as a 12.5" Display with a resolution of 1024x768, but works fine when i force a Resolution of 1080p. But on every restart I have to unplug & replug the new monitor for it to work. Is there any way to fix this issue?
