Thinkpad x220 longevity

Good morning r/hackintosh!

After some research it seems like a thinkpad x220 is one of the best options for a hackintosh laptop. (also open to a uggestions on more that are as compatible)

I am set on a laptop because of the portability and my current job situation. Can I reasonably expect this to be a worthwhile investment as far as lasting me and remaining useable for the near future? I plan on getting the i7 version and will be doing light video editing (footage from a hi8 video camera) and photo editing/scanning and the usual web browsing/productivity. I plan on upgrading storage to ssd, adding more ram, and upgrading to an IPS panel.
