Kaby Lake build for audio production.

Hello, I am on a very tight budget for the build and I am trying to save every single cent I could, but I would also like to get good performance. I am planning on building a daily runner for Audio production (Logic Pro/Ableton Live) and sometimes things like Photoshop and maybe Final Cut. Nowadays I don't play so much video games so I won't be gaming on Mac OS. I would possibly dual boot with Linux or Windows (exFAT). I would probably use some 3rd party driver solution for ext4, but I am not so sure yet.

Secondly, I was wondering if I could get away with not using a dedicated graphics card. As a possible GPU for my build I've chosen the Gigabyte GF GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB (not the windforce one) but I think it's kind of an overkill for my needs ? I know I could get it to work, but I will have basic acceleration with the Intel® HD Graphics 630. So how is the experience with integrated graphics ? I know Final Cut does not like Nvidia Graphics, but I can always work on video on my windows machine. I will be using a cheap ultrawide (LG 25UM58-P) as I need a 21:9 ar. Also will I be better with and AMD solution for my GPU as some models are natively supported under Mac OS ?

Here are the specs:

  • MB: Gigabyte GA-Z270X-UD3
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700k
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2666MHz
  • SSD: 480GB Kingston UV400 (probably change to a smaller capacity one)
  • HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 64MB (probably change to a smaller capacity one)
  • PSU: CM G650M 650W 80+ Bronze 120mm (Overkill, any suggestions are appriciated. I would have gone with a seasonic psu but the ones in stock are very expensive)

  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S

  • Optical Drive: LG GH24NSD1

  • Case: DeepCool DUKASE V2

  • GPU(?): GB GF GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB

Overall cost with taxes in my country: 2393.2 BGN (1439.9 USD / 1223.9 EU)
