Gray and white apple loading screens

I recently got a Sierra x99 hackintosh up and running. It's working mostly perfect (aside from reboot on sleep), but one odd thing I think is that I have 2 apple loading screens: a gray apple one followed by a black apple one with the loading bar. I only say it's odd because I don't think the gray one was there when I first loaded up the OS. It still works fine, just takes a bit longer to load. Is it normal to have both of these?
