Toshiba Z930 stuck after install

Hello. I just picked up a sweet little Ultrabook from eBay, a Toshiba Portege Z930 with 4 GB RAM and an Intel i5-3437U (HD4000 graphics). I've installed to laptops before and am currently using a USB 3.0 USB stick used to get my Lenovo P580 up and running.

Before jumping in I wanted to do research first. my i5-3437U closely matches the MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.8 13" (Mid-2012) 1.8 GHz Core i5 (I5-3427U) as seen from EveryMac.com. The SMBIOS comes out to MacBookAir5,2. While it's not exact, it more closely matches the others available.

The next part was the one I dreaded, the HD4000 graphics. I found a list of different codes using this page showing the differences. The first one that worked that let me get to the installer on the USB key was "01620005". The ones I attempted before would show the following before going to a black screen:

prevent idle sleep list: IODisplayWrangler (1)

On previous attempts and getting to the black screen, I held down the function key and turned the brightness up, as i recall that happening with other OS X installs on laptops.

Since it worked with the install I rebooted again using the USB stick and used the same parameters, but now it hangs at the same place but doesn't go to a black screen. I assumed since I got to the installer that the BIOS settings were correct, but is there a sleep setting somewhere in the BIOS I need to change or a Clover flag I need to enable or disable?
