Now that I have Sierra running I am ironing out a few kinks that have cropped up. One kink in particular is that it appears that my CPU idles around 3.5GHz according to Intel Power Gadget.
I've followed Tony Mac's guide to generate an SSDT and moved the generated SSDT.aml to /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/. After rebooting I ran AppleIntelInfo.kext and noticed my CPU still idled around the 3.5GHz frequency. Here are two screen grabs from the AppleIntelInfo.kext test:
The Test 1 screen grab was taken earlier that Test 2 for clarity. From both tests it seems as if P states are going from idle to max non-overclocked frequencies- however this is not reflected in the Intel Power Gadgets GUI. In Gadgets, when I am not actively using my desktop, the reported CPU frequency always hovers around 3.5GHz occasionally dipping down to about 2.96GHz. Any ideas or suggestions anyone? I am not keen on my CPU idling so high.
