No sound when reducing Input Gain in VoodooHDA

So I had VoodooHDA working just fine, always setting the Input Gain to 0 after boot to kill the noise, this did never effect the volume (just the noise).

Now, after waking up from hibernation, all of the sudden the there is hardly any sound anymore when setting Input Gain to 0 - I have to crank it up to get normal volume (which of corse results in noise).

I tried to remove and reinstall VoodooHDA, to no avail. I have no idea why it doesn't work as it used to or how I can fix this...
