I've been on Sierra since it's release but hadn't noticed the problem until yesterday. I was having some issues with the CPU overheating so I cleaned the radiator/fans and applied new paste.
With that all done I'd been monitoring the CPU under the Intel Power Gadget. I've noticed the CPU never goes into Turbo Boost its limited to 3.2 Ghz rather than 4.5 Ghz. This is all on Sierra.
Decided to reset the BIOS, look at Clover settings. SSDT and more but couldn't see any changes.
Since I've got El Capitan still installed I checked that out and it works fine. Idle's low and hits the Turbo Boost up to 4.5 Ghz when needed.
Both are using the same Clover settings and files, only things which differ are is the System.
Just wondered if anyone had an idea whats causing it.
