Hey all. Long time lurker over here. Never really tried to actually make a hackintosh until a couple weeks back. Ran into a few issues along the way but eventually managed to get an almost perfect hackintosh! Thought I'd share this one, as it took me a heck of a lot of tweaking. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what I did, but I will provide what I can remember / find.
Setup
You may not be interested that much, but my setup is Corsair K95 RGB, Logitech G602, and 2x QNIX 2710 monitors. (27" 2560x1440)
Not the best quality images because my hands are about as steady as the UK economy, but to me it's my proudest creation as it looks beautiful on these monitors, made ever better by the spacious desk.
I'm still dual booted with windows. By default, just booting up will launch me into Windows as one would expect. To access MacOS I have to use F8 to get to the boot menu and choose Clover. But I kinda like it that way. Means nobody will find it and break it
Benchmarks
I have no idea how good/bad this is. I'm clueless, but thought it would be nice to include as I see it a lot around here. And maybe I can get some feedback on how to improve this :)

Unfortunately I didn't write down the steps on how to actually accomplish this, because it was a lot of trial and error. The base idea was using rampagedev's installation guide which worked pretty well. I could boot into Sierra fine using the installation USB, but I had issues booting into Sierra from the clover that was on the hard disk using the same launch arguments.
Oddly, after some playing about, I discovered that during installation the argument npci=0x2000
, but for it to boot from clover on my HDD, I had to use npci=0x3000
. This worked fine for like 2 days. After that I couldn't boot again for some strange reason. Researching the error, I got the basic idea that OsxAptioFixDrv
So I tried changing the driver to OsxAptioFixDrv-free2000
which was supposedly an x99 specific patched version. And to my surprise, it worked.
So after these few oddities I had a working hackintosh. Minus audio libs and USB 3 support, so I set out to fix that. Using the resources linked above I was able to get both working in about an hour. This was roughly 3 weeks ago, and my hackintosh is still going strong. The audio isn't perfect, but it's more than good enough for me. (I have a 5.1 audio setup, but only works like 3.1) I can even use sleep, which I didn't realise would be so useful.
Anyway, hope someone can get use out of those resources. I know how hard it is to find a guide that actually helps and is easy to follow. Much credit to rampagedev for the incredibly detailed installation guide.
I've been tempted to upgrade to 10.12.6, but judging by how annoying the initial install was and how well it's running now, I'm not sure it's worth risking issues just to get rid of the annoying update message / red bubble on the store.
