Should i build a Hackintosh System with AMD's Ryzen? Pros & Cons from users with experience would be great!

Hello there Hackintosh community, i've worked with OSX since 10.5 but always used Intel CPUs since they meant less trouble setting up a new system.

But since Intel's 8-Core CPUs are way too expensive for my taste (i7 6900k: 1.000 € or i7-7820X: 660 €) and AMD's Ryzen 1700x (8-Core/16 Threads) only costs € 360 i'm really getting curious about building an AMD Hackintosh.

The idea got stuck in my head since i've seen some threads at insanelymac where people posted their successfull AMD builds. There are some great guides to get you started (like this one: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/324392-ryzen-clover-installation-guide-macos-sierra/).

The alternative would be to get a X299 mainboard (250–300 €) and a i7-7820X (8C/16T @ 660 €) but compared to the Ryzen + AMD Motherboard (150 € for MB + 360 € for CPU) Intel charges double for nearly the same performance. I know the X299 chipset has probably more advantages than AMD's AM4 – but i'm just comparing them according to my needs.

Right now i have an older machine with an i7 2600k and a portable mini-Hackintosh with an 6700k which i use in combination with my iPad Pro (screen mirroring with the Duet App) – didn't have enough money for a fast "hackintosh-able" laptop. Plus i love using Apples Pencil in Photoshop (with Astropad) and Affinity Photo in iOS.

I would need the 8-Core CPU power mainly for Cinema 4D and video encoding tasks. I know you can use GPU-render plugins for Cinema 4D, like Octane (for 20$ per month) – but i really like C4D's internal renderer. Plus it can never hurt to have more cores if you are like me and usually have 50+ tabs open. I have tried all possible tab manager extensions for Chrome, but nothing can cure my tab insanity :-).

So what would you say to the AMD Ryzen experiment – too unstable / not futureproof enough for OS updates?

Should i wait for Intels Skylake-X CPU prices to drop?

Or should i wait till AMD announces the prices for the new Threadripper (12 or 16 Cores) CPUs?

How are your Ryzen Hackintosh builds doing?
