So I have looked through the rules and while I have found similar posts to this one, they are all really outdated, and I feel like others might benefit from a more up to date opinion.
I would like to begin developing for iOS, just as a hobby right now, but with the intent to move beyond that at some point. I have a relatively limited budget, probably around $600 but I have found what appears to be a good deal on a Mac Mini from Best Buy. Here’s the link, if anyone wants to check it out. The price has gone up, but as back to school deals begin to appear, I should be able to get an open box unit for about $350. Of course I am aware of some of the hardware limitations but I just thought that I should ask what the community thinks. Should I invest that money in a Mini, or should I just build it myself? This would be my first build but I’m fairly confident that I could figure it out with all the content out there. I could also buy this Mini, for about $530, once back to school starts, which is still within my budget. The idea of building really just occurred to me today, and I’d really appreciate some advice before I make a decision. Thanks!
