So I wanted to try playing with a linux distro and I was tight for space on my 256 GB SSD. So I purchased a 525 GB SSD and used Carbon Copy to clone my drive to it and everything seemed great! Little did I know, it was using my working clover EFI partition still on my 256 GB that I never moved. So I installed Linux on the 256, fully formatting and wiping the drive. At this point, when I try to boot from my 525 GB, the motherboard states there is no boot volume.
I finally got it to boot by installing Clover with Unibeast and Sierra on a USB but couldn't get audio to work. I did some googling and found some kexts, installed them, and now I can't boot at all. I feel so stupid at this point. I have tried booting off the SSD and the USB
The last line that loads in verbose is "FireWire (OHCI) VendorID 1106 ID 3044 PCI now active, GUID 0049e550ef030800; max speed s400. http://i.imgur.com/n3TdLQZ.jpg
I have a Macbook Pro so I plugged the 525 drive to that and removed those kexts and cleared cache but it still won't boot. I did install Clover on the 525 drive but it doesn't make a difference. What is odd about Clover is when I edit the boot arguments, they immediately undo any changes I make. It's determined to say: dart=0 kext-dev-mode=1 rootless=0 nvda_drv=1
So if I remove any of those and leave the Options menu then go back, the above arguments remain. What is odd is these arguments are not in config.plist.
I asked this on Tonymac and only got one suggestion to try the EFI_Backup directory and move the files from that onto the EFI partition. While this downgraded Clover to what I'm used to seeing when I boot my Mac, it still won't finish booting.
I really don't know what to do at this point. I'm so frustrated and been working on this for two days now.
