Hey All,
I decided to repurpose my FreeNAS into a Hackintosh box. It has:
After messing around I was able to get 10.12.5 working with the 530 running on my 4k Samsung display over HDMI, no problem.
The issues I'm seeing are:
My USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard simply don't work.
My USB 3.1 port doesn;t work well either, if my keyboard is plugged into it there is tremendous lag
My USB 3.0 ports work, but there seems to still be mouse lag
Is there a catch to getting USB working properly? I seem to remember USB being the easiest component to get working (ever since way back in the OS X Tiger days when hackintosh first became a thing).
For reference, I'm using the iMac 17,1 system definition, and Realtek ethernet kext and audio kext. That's about it.
Second small issue that I don't care too much about is that when I turn all my 2TB drives into a RAID array via the macOS Raid Assistant I lose the ability to actually boot my system. While I'm not touching my boot drive at all, Clover freaks out and just reboots my machine. My only solution was to go into the BIOS and disable the SATA ports for those 2TB drives.
Has anyone managed to get clover to not shit the bed when software raid is being used within macOS on drives unrelated to boot?
Cheers for any help!
