Kernel Panic during shutdown after pressing Restart after install completes #iATKOS

I am trying to install Hazard's AMD 10.6.1/10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3 on the following system:

Mobo: ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2

BIOS: AMI P3.90 (AHCI enabled)

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Windsor 64 X2 4200+ Dual Core Socket AM3 (MMX (+), 3DNow! (+), SSE, SSE2, SSE3, x86-64, AMD-V)

RAM: DDR2 4096MB (4 x 1GB)

Graphic Card: Asus/ATI Radeon AH4350 PCI-e 2.0 512MB 880Hz

SSD: Kingmax SMP22 64GB (brand new, unformatted)

Everything goes fine and VERY quickly during the install process (I of course selected the AMD patch in the Customise screen, and have tried a variety of kernels and other options). Then there is always a kernel panic after 10-15 seconds during shutdown after the first phase of installation and I am unable to restart it using any of the known boot arguments (-x, mach_kernel, -F, -f, arch=i386, cpus=1, etc, etc).

Anyone able to help me please??

Question regarding these boot flags: do they have any effect or value if used PRE-INSTALLATION, i.e. boot from POST using install DVD, instead of pressing Enter press F8, typing in a boot flag eg -force64 and then starting the install process.

I'm sure I saw a YouTube video where he said he had done this but I couldn't quite believe it. I was under the impression that these arguments were only of use AFTER the OS had been installed and booting normally into OS X could not be achieved.

Would appreciate anyone's input or suggestions for another distro that might work on my system.
