First and foremost, let me post my specs:
Intel Core i5 2550k Sandy Bridge
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3
I am using the Niresh distro and I cannot change my resolution. I have been told this is because OS X is not using the power of my graphics card. To fix this, I was told to use onboard graphics for booting otherwise my 7970 wouldn't run properly. The issue is that I don't have onboard graphics.
So my question is: is there a way to get my 7970 to work without onboard graphics? If not, which graphics card should I buy as my second card for booting up?
Also, please check the thread below. I'm not really sure what it means but supposedly it may allow me to use the full "QE" of my 7970 without needing another card.
