Couple of days back Apple has released Mac OS X Lion and in just one day over 1 Million users have bought and downloaded OS X Lion, which shows us the craze for OS X Lion. If you also love Mac OS X, but afford to buy a Mac machine then you can build a Hackintosh PC by installing Mac OS X on a normal PC. So if you have already built your Hackintosh PC with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, then here is a detailed guide which will help you to install Mac OS X Lion 10.7 on your Hackintosh.

- Hackintosh PC running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later
- Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 with 64 bit CPU
- 8GB free space on your HDD with 4GB of space available in “/Applications”
- Mac App Store Account + $29.99

- Mac Pro 3,1 system definition and the latest Chimera Bootloader from MultiBeast
STEP 1: Download OS X Lion From the Mac App Store
- Boot into your current Snow Leopard
- Download OS X Lion from the Mac App Store.
- After the OS X Lion installer launches click continue.
- Select your currently booted Snow Leopard drive and hit Install. This will simply install the files necessary to do the OS X Lion installation at a later stage.
- Click Restart to reboot your PC.
STEP 2: Prepare the Installer Partition
- Boot into the existing Snow Leopard installation.
- Open up /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
- From the left column highlight your Snow Leopard drive
- Choose the Partition tab, and Click the + to Add a Partition.
- Name the secondary partition as “Lion” with a size of 8 GB and click Apply.
- Click Partition and once you are done, close Disk Utility.
STEP 3: Using xMove
- Download xMove
- Double-Click xMove, and choose “Lion” as Destination. (DO NOT choose existing Snow Leopard as the Destination.)
- The process takes a few minutes, and when done, you’ll have a secondary partition on your drive containing the OS X Lion Installer.
STEP 4: Boot Installer & Install OS X Lion
- Reboot your Hackintosh PC and at the Chimera boot screen, choose “Lion”
- It will boot directly to a familiar Mac OS X Installer complete with Disk Utility.
- Install OS X Lion over existing Snow Leopard or onto any empty drive or partition.
If you have installed OS X Lion directly over an existing Snow Leopard installation, you’re done! You should already have done proper post-installation steps on your existing Snow Leopard drive and you can skip Step 5 and simply reboot into Lion!
STEP 5: Setting Up Hackintosh MultiBeast
MultiBeast is an all-in-one post-installation tool designed to enable boot from hard drive, and install support for Audio, Network, and Graphics on your Hackintosh.
